WAXING

How long does my hair have to be to wax?

For optimal results your needs to be at least 1/4 of an inch long. If you normally shave, stop at least 3 weeks before waxing.

What is a Bikini Wax?

The Bikini Wax is hair removed that would be showing outside of your bathing suit or underwear. Disposable underwear are available for this wax.

What is a Brazilian Wax?

A Brazilian Wax removes all the hair a Bikini Wax does. From the navel strip down everything is removed. This includes the top, labia area and in between the cheeks. You may leave a strip or triangle on the top.

How long does a Brazilian Wax last?

The hair grows in three stages. For most people their Brazilian Wax lasts between 2 and 3 weeks before they start seeing the new growth. I recommend waxing every 4-6 weeks.

Is there anything I can do to prepare for my Brazilian or Bikini Wax?

Gently exfoliate prior to your first wax. Taking 1-2 Ibruprofen 30 minutes prior can ease any discomfort and inflammation.

Is there anything I should NOT do before a wax appointment?

Avoid caffeine and alcohol prior to waxing. Do not go tanning, do not soak in a hot tub and most importantly DO NOT SHAVE OR TRIM the hair.

Is my hair too long?

No. Your hair can be too short but never too long. If it is long I will trim it. I do not recommend trimming your own hair as you may trim too short and it might not adhere to the wax.

Can I wax while on my period?

Absolutely! You are more sensitive prior to and during your cycle. If you wax during your cycle I ask that you wear a tampon.

Can I wax while pregnant?

Absolutely! Your skin may feel a bit tender during pregnancy, but there is no harm to you or your baby. If you have any concerns please consult your doctor.

Will my skin be red?

Skin can stay red anywhere from 1-24 hours. Avoid using pools, hot tubs, and saunas after a wax. Try to avoid working out for 24 hours post wax. The skin needs time to heal and sweat and friction can cause irritation. If you do experience extended redness I recommend a cold compress or hydrocorisone cream.

How do I prevent ingrown hairs?

EXFOLIATE! When you exfoliate you are removing dead skin, allowing new hair to grow free and not get trapped. Wait to exfoliate 2 days after waxing. I recommend using PFB Vanish as well. PFB Vanish is available to purchase at my location.

What if I’m taking medications?

Taking antibiotics or topical acne medicines (including Accutane, Differin, Retin A) may make skin more sensitive and susceptible to skin lifting. You CANNOT wax while taking Accutane.

Do you double dip?

NEVER! I discard every spatula I use and get a new one with every application to the skin. NO DOUBLE DIPPING.
